A cartoon is an illustration, possibly animated, realistic or semi-realistic style. This meaning has evolved over time, it is typically referred to an image or series of images and the concept of the cartoon is evolved over time. A cartoon is generally portrayed or made for satire, caricature or humour, or sometimes a motion picture that relies on a sequence of illustrations. A cartoonist is a person who creates cartoons, sometimes these people are also known as an animator. The concept of cartoon originated in the middle ages, first cartoons are drawn in paintings, fresco, tapestry, or stained glass window.
In print media, a cartoon is an illustration od series and it is usually humorous in intent. Cartoons started publishing in print media from the year 1843 and the first publisher was Punch magazine, cartoons are typically divided into two categories such as gag cartoons, which include editorial cartoons and comic strips. Political cartoons are made with severe visual commentaries on political events, They generally offer subtle criticism which is very cleverly quoted with satire and humour to that extent that the sentiment of a criticized person doesn't get hurt.
