Family Guy is an American animated sitcom created by using Seth MacFarlane for the Fox Broadcasting Company that debuted on January 31, 1999. The sequence is produced through Fuzzy Door Productions and twentieth Television and syndicated by means of Disney-ABC Domestic Television. The sequence facilities on the Griffins, a household consisting of mother and father Peter and Lois; their children, Meg, Chris, and Stewie; and their anthropomorphic pet dog, Brian. The exhibit is set in the fictional metropolis of Quahog, Rhode Island, and well-known shows plenty of its surreal and darkish humor in the structure of metafictional cutaway gags that regularly lampoon American culture.
The household used to be conceived via MacFarlane after growing two animated films, The Life of Larry and Larry &: Steve. MacFarlane redesigned the films' protagonist, Larry, and his dog, Steve, and renamed them Peter and Brian, respectively. MacFarlane pitched a seven-minute pilot to Fox in 1998, and the exhibit was once greenlit and started production. Family Guy's cancellation was once introduced quickly after the 0.33 season had aired in 2002, with one unaired episode ultimately premiering on Adult Swim in 2003, ending the series' unique run. Favorable DVD income and excessive scores from syndicated reruns considering then satisfied Fox to revive the exhibit in 2004; a fourth season would commence airing the following year on May 1, 2005.
