Crabs are decapod crustaceans of the infraorder brachyura, which normally have a totally brief projecting "tail" typically hidden absolutely beneath the thorax. They stay in all the global's oceans, in sparkling water, and on land, are typically protected with a thick exoskeleton, and have a single pair of pincers. Many different animals with similar names – inclusive of hermit crabs, king crabs, porcelain crabs, horseshoe crabs, and crab lice – are not true crabs. Crabs are usually covered with a thick exoskeleton, composed typically of quite mineralized chitin, and armed with a unmarried pair of chelae (claws).
Crabs are found in all the international's oceans, whilst many crabs stay in clean water and on land, especially in tropical regions. Crabs range in length from the pea crab, some millimeters extensive, to the japanese spider crab, with a leg span up to 4 m (thirteen feet).
