Ice is a solid made from water, in more simple words it is the solid form of water. Commonly the colour of ice is transparent, but depending on the number and type of impurities such as air bubbles or solid particles, it's colour may vary from translucent, blurry to bluish white. When talking about the Solar System, one may observe that ice is present in abundant quantities, occurs naturally from as close to the Sun as Mercury to as far away as the Oort Cloud objects. It appears or occurs as interstellar ice, beyond the Solar System. 

It can be found in abundant quantities on the surface of the Earth, particularly above the snow line and in the polar regions. The common form of its appearance is deposition and precipitation. This plays a key role in Earth's climate and water cycle. It falls as hails or snowflakes or occurs as icicles, frost or ice spikes. There exists different phases of ice, one can say it might display eighteen or more different phases in the form of packing geometric differences which happen to depend upon temperature and pressure. Upto three different forms of amorphous ice can be formed when water is cooled rapidly also known as quenching, which in turn depends on its history of pressure and temperature.
