Facebook also known with its abbreviated term FB, is an American online social networking and social media service based in Menlo Park, California. Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg, along with his fellow friends from his university, Harvard. The co-founders Andrew McCollum, Eduardo Saverin, Chris Hughes and Dustin Moskovitz were the roommates of Mark Zuckerberg. The membership of the site was initially limited to Harvard students only by the members, but later they expanded the availability of Stanford, Columbia and Yale students. Subsequently the membership was expanded to the remaining Ivy League schools like Massachusetts Institute of Technology, also it was spread to higher education institutes in Boston area, then various other universities and finally to high school students.
