Samsung, which means three stars in English, is a South Korean multinational conglomerate whose headquarters are in Samsung Town, Seoul. It comprises numerous affiliated businesses, most of which unite under the brand name of Samsung.It was founded in 1938 by Lee Byung-chul as a trading company. The company entered the electronics industry in the late 1960s and has, since, increasingly globalised its activities and electronics, especially, its mobile phones and semiconductors which have become its most important source of income. Samsung has the 6th highest global brand value as of 2017 reports. Its largest and most renowned smartphone series is the 'Galaxy' series. The product line includes the Samsung Galaxy Tab series of tablets, the Samsung Galaxy S series of high-end smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy Note series of phablets with the added functionality of a stylus, and smartwatches, including the first version of the Samsung Galaxy Gear, with the latest release in 2018.
Samsung Galaxy devices use the operating system produced by google i.e. Android, usually with a custom user interface called One UI. However, the Galaxy Tab Pro S is the first Galaxy-branded Windows 10 device that was announced in CES 2016. However, several early reviewers said the screens on their devices had broken and thus the Fold was rereleased in September 2019, new and improved. Flagship lines consist of the high end Galaxy S, Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Note series, while the Galaxy A series and Galaxy M series comprise low-end and mid-range models.
