Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger was born on 30th July, 1947. He is an Austrian-American actor, author, politician, filmmaker, businessman and a former professional bodybuilder. During 2003 to 2011, he served as the 38th Governor of California. He is the most recent Republican governor of California, as of 2019. Schwarzenegger began lifting weights at a mere age of 15 and went on to win the title of Mr. Universe at age of 20 and also won the Mr. Olympia contest seven times while remaining a prominent presence in bodybuilding and writing many books and articles on the sport. The Arnold Sports Festival which is considered to be the second most important professional bodybuilding event in recent years is named after him. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time and the most charismatic ambassador of sports. He gained popularity around the world as a Hollywood action film icon. His breakthrough film was the sword-and-sorcery epic Conan the Barbarian which was released in 1982, a movie that was a tremendous hit at the box-office and resulted in a sequel. He appeared in the title role of James Cameron's critically and commercially successful science fiction action film The Terminator which was released in 1984. He subsequently played a similar Terminator character in most of the later installments of the franchise, Terminator 2: Judgment Day released in 1991, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines released in 2003, Terminator Genisys released in 2015 and Terminator: Dark Fate released in 2019.
