Bugatti also known as Bugatti Veyron EB 16.4 developed and designed in Germany by the Volkswagen Group, is a mid-engine sports car, manufactured in Molsheim, France, by French automobile manufacturer Bugatti. The car gets its name from the racing driver Pierre Veyron.
The original version of the sports car has a top speed of 407 km/hr. It was also awarded as the Car of the Decade and Best Car Award (2000-2009) by Top Gear, a BBC television programme. In 2005, the standard Bugatti Veyron also won Top Gear's Best Car Driven All Year Award.
The Guinness World Records also recognise the Super Sport version of the Bugatti Veyron as the fastest street legal production car in the world, having a top speed of 431.072 km/hr. The fastest roadster in the world was also known to be the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, having an average top speed of 408.84 km/hr in a test conducted on April 6, 2013. Hartmut Warkuss was the Veyron's chief designer and Jozef Kaban was the exterior designer of Volkswagen. Much of the work related to engineering was conducted under the guidance of the engineering chief named Wolfgang Schreiber. Burmester is said to be the person behind the sound system that is fitted in the Veyron.
