The history of Adidas shoes goes back to the invention of lightweight football shoes. In the 1952 World Cup final when the German national football team went up against the unbeaten the Hungarians, they won something more than a trophy.Their incredible triumph has been heard around the world for decades now. The team outshone the word wearing Adidas shoes, making Adidas and its founder a world famous brand in football. Adi Dassler, the founder of Adidas, in 1924 registered with “Gebruder Dassler Schuhfabrik” and was set on his mission to provide the world with best possible athletic equipment. Gold medals in Amsterdam (1928, Lina Radke) and Berlin were first rewards and milestones – and only the start of our story. Adi Dassler started over again at the age of 49, on August 18,1949, registered the “Adi Dassler adidas Sportschuhfabrik” and set to work with 47 employees. He did this in the small town of Herzogenaurach.
The 3-Stripes kept expanding to more and more sports throughout the years, from Herzogenaurach to the world. Adidas has gained the trust of many world famous sports celebrities who have reassured their trust with the brand by using it repeatedly, like the Argentinian national team, Reinhold Messner,the outdoor icon, climbed mountains in adidas shoes and Nadia Comaneci, the gymnast, scored a perfect 10, multiple times.
