Interfaces need small object metaphors constantly, and that is what this section supplies: padlocks for security, bells for notifications, coins and money for payments, shields for protection, scissors for cutting, balloons, stairs and general tool marks. Each stands in for an action rather than illustrating the thing itself, which is why a padlock means privacy far more often than it means a lock. It is one of the smallest icon sections on the site, holding only a couple of dozen files, so it covers the familiar metaphors and little else. Files are transparent PNGs that stay legible at the small sizes a toolbar or a status row needs, layering over a dark panel or a light card cleanly. Product teams use them for settings, alerts and checkout, and security pages for trust marks. Download at no cost.
