FOOD ICONS
Photographed dishes belong to the food image section; here the same subjects are reduced to flat symbols: drinks and bottles, coffee cups, beer glasses, cooking and junk food marks, and hotel and restaurant service icons. A few technology and brand entries have drifted into it as well, which is a quirk of the taxonomy rather than a theme. Each icon is a transparent PNG that holds its shape at menu and button sizes and drops onto a coloured banner or a dark header without a square behind it. Restaurants and delivery apps use them in menu navigation and filters, hotels on amenity lists, and event organisers on catering signage. Recipe sites use them as step and category markers, and bars print them on drink lists. Because the shapes are flat and unbranded, they survive a menu redesign in a way a photograph of a specific dish does not. Everything downloads free.
