A bottle is a container with a narrow neck made of impermeable material such as glass, clay, plastic, steel, aluminum etc. Bottles are available in market in various sizes and shapes in order to store and transport liquids such as milk, water, bear, ink, wine, cooking oil, soft drinks, chemicals, medicine, shampoo, etc. Some of the bottles come with cap attached to its narrow opening in order to seal the liquid inside the bottle, whereas some have an internal stopper, a closure or a conductive inner seal using induction sealing. It said that bottles and their usage first took place in Phoenicia, Rome, China and Crete.
The name to the word bottle was given in the 14th century, the English word was derived from bouteille, an old French word which was derived from butticula, a vulgar Latin word, which in turn was derived from late Latin and latinisation of a Greek word. One can classify bottles into the following categories : glass bottles, wine bottles (bordeaux, burgundy, champagne), cold neck bottles, plastic bottles, aluminum bottles and hot water bottles. Wine bottles are generally glass bottles only with a high class and quality stopper like cork. Cold neck bottles are the ones which were designed in order to enclose a marble or a rubber washer/gasket in its neck.
